Hi,i am Colin or as the children i have cared for affectionately call me,Wack Wack.I have over 20 years experience in Childcare and I am extremely passionate about giving children the very best start in life and that they and their families deserve the most professional childcare possible.This is why i became part of a panel looking into Professional Occupational Standards in Childcare and also part of a group studying the lack of males in childcare(M.I.C.)I am always looking to enlist on courses and attend many meetings and forums to look at ways of getting the very best for our children.I believe i taught my three sons well and always receive positive comments about them.I would love to pass on my knowledge to your children(and them me) and would thrive on the challenges that they set.I am a Tenant Director with a local housing association do not drink or smoke.Recently received a GOOD in my recent OFSTED inspection 02/04/19
My Experience
OFSTED registered for 12 years, i have helped to nurture many children from birth to 11. I am still in touch with many of the children who i have previously cared for .I have 3 fantastic grown up sons and 4 grandchildren. I have many qualifications all on show and at your request for viewing including:Safeguarding,Risk Assessment,Food Hygiene,First Aid,Oral Health,Observation Skills,Safestart Child Safety Programme,Inclusion,Early Support,Speech And Language Development,Motivating 2,5-8 and over 8 year olds and Working With Family Separation In An Early Years Setting and others.Also registered with PACEY and fully insured with Royal Sun Alliance.My setting is fully safe and secured and I provide a wide range of age appropriate toys and resources.I am within walking distance of many local parks and other resources.The 63, 61, 22x and 144 bus services stop directly outside of my setting,the 8 bus service 5 minutes walk away and New St.Station and Five Ways Station are close by. I provide local pick up/drop off to/from local schools and nurseries ( though I do not drive ) Schools I cover are: St Catherine of Siena School/Nursery, St. Thomas's C of E School/Nursery, Perry Beeches IV, Lilian de Lisa Nursery and Woodview Academy.
My Qualifications
CACHE level 3. OFSTED rated GOOD April 2019. Designated Senior Lead (DSL) trained in Safeguarding Children. DBS certified, First Aid certified. I work closely with parents so as to benefit their children’s growth and development. I make and record daily observations (using EYFS) of children which are then recorded in more detail on weekly achievements and next steps forms, which are made available for parents to view, copy and comment on. Depending on a child’s age when they join me, l provide parents with a detailed tracker and assessment of my observations at 6 months, 2 years and 3 years of age. I also provide a detailed assessment of children’s development, likes, dislikes and achievements, which are given to any nursery/school a child moves on to on leaving my setting so that their future development can be monitored, encouraged and enhanced. ALL children in my care have excelled beyond parents expectations but not mine. I have high hopes for every child the second they step inside my setting. They never let me down!

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
Depending on length of contract, hours required,etc.£8/HOUR midweek (negotiable) and £10/hour weekends/unsociable hours (negotiable) Reduction for siblings.Includes food,unless parents wish to supply their own for ethnic,dietary or allergenic reasons(I operate and encourage a Healthy Eating Policy). Fee also includes trips outside of setting. Payments in advance at beginning of week/month.

Mr Colin is a sweet person, my children love being with him, they are very excited to spend the day with him! He is essential for me, my children go home happy and full of plans for the next week. Thank you for all the activities you do with them, Mr Colin, parents can trust with their eyes closed.

Colin looked after my son for a couple of hours only but the little one had lots of fun and even asked me if he could come back another day :) I would highly recommend him.

Colin (WackWack) has looked after our son on a daily basis whilst we wait for him to start Nursery. Within Colins property it is a dream for little ones with so many toys, books and everything else to get the little ones imagination running. It is a super clean, tidy and fresh space. Colin is super knowledgeable and experienced which is why our son loves going there every day. Great communication throughout the day and I wouldnt hesitate in recommending his services.

Thank you so much for your kind words James! Your little boy is an absolute delight to spend time with and such a quick learner. I can see the wheels in his head turning when l speak to him and l just hope that the nursery staff will see and nurture his potential. He has improved almost on a daily basis and l would love to see where he is in 3-4 months time. Well done my little friend, l am very proud of you.

Thank you Lin! Your little one is so cute, funny and very clever. We enjoy our walks together and she is always keen to learn about nature and always asking “Why?” and her speech and early language development has improved beyond recognition since day one. I very much hope to be able to teach her even more. She is a delightful child with great potential.
Colin looked after my one-year old son, and let me just say that the little one didn't even notice when I left. Colin was really amazing with him and I was so glad I found him.

Many thanks for your review Dora. Although your little one was only with me for the day l can say that, considering he is only just one year old, he has great potential. He has a lovely character and picked things up really quickly and copied things l showed him after just the once. I have a good insight into children and l can honestly
say that you have a son who will amaze you. I would love to hear how he progresses throughout his early years and am always here for advice. Thank you so much for considering me to care of such a wonderful little boy.
