My home nursery in Downham (Bromley) is a positive and friendly environment for your little ones to play and learn together. I look after a maximum of 3/4 under 5s at once and every day, we go adventuring in my local parks and green spaces. The small numbers mean the children get individual attention from me, but they can also grow and learn with others along the way.
My home nursery is a 10-minute walk from Grove Park station and there is also free parking on my road. I live with my son, who attends secondary school and has a huge passion for basketball! He loves children and is really excited to meet the little ones when he comes home from school.
I have a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare, a Level 4 Diploma in Management and vast experience working with children in a wide range of settings. My longest role was 22 years at a nursery!
Our three-bed house has a dedicated space for free play, and lots of zones for different types of learning. The children can help themselves to toys and books and I often have a messy play station set up in the afternoons post-nap time. We have a large garden outside and lots of local parks and other green spaces nearby for our daily outings.
I provide a home-cooked lunch and tea every day, and a snack in the morning whilst we’re out. I’m fully trained in food hygiene and preparing food safely (including for children with allergies). We eat around the table together, family-style, and I help little children who aren’t able to feed themselves yet.
My menu changes every 4 weeks, and every meal is healthy and balanced. I cook a range of kid-friendly cuisines from Chinese to Indian, West Indian to Mexican and even a good old-fashioned roast dinner. I love to pack in lots of different colour vegetables to give children a varied, healthy diet. When we’re out and about and get a little peckish, we enjoy snacks like fresh fruit, rice cakes, oat biscuits and sometimes we take sandwiches and have a picnic in the great outdoors!

My Experience
My career in childcare has spanned over 30 years! I have predominantly worked in nurseries, working my way up from 3rd in charge to deputy to nursery manager. One of my proudest Management roles was at an Outstanding rated, Nursery World, award-winning nursery. I have also worked as a nanny, in a creche and at an after school club. I know every stage of the early years inside out and am well practised in maximising children’s learning and development.
My Qualifications
NNEB Diploma in childcare Level 3, Advance diploma in childcare Level 4 (management) Paediatric First aid, Safeguarding, Food & Hygiene, e-safety, outdoor learning, EYFS, SEND and many more.

Monday to Friday 8:00am-6:00pm (with some flexibility either way)

Yvonne has been looking after my baby daughter and has been an absolute God send! She is communucative, child-focused and very knowledgeable about child development. She has been working and communicate with me to meet my baby's needs and provides very detailed feedback throughout the day and upon collection. I fully trust that my daughter is being well cared for and stimulated in her evironment. Thank you Yvonne :)

Yvonne has looked after our son for the last 6 months, he started with her just after he turned 1. We are moving out of the area and so have had to find a new childminder, we wish he was able to stay with Yvonne though as he loves it in her daycare. He settled in straight away and loves spending the day with her. Yvonne quickly got to know him and picked up on little things that he does to show he enjoys something. She is caring, patient and calm and has created a lovely home from home environment, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous settings, but able to apply it to give the children individual attention and meet their needs.
As a speech and language therapist, I was keen to find a childminder who could support our son’s language and communication skills when he wasn’t with us. I was really happy and felt confident leaving him with Yvonne having seen how she interacted with him and modelled language with him, knowing that she would continue to support his development in this area.
Yvonne provides detailed and regular updates throughout the day and at the end of the day when I pick him up, from what he has eaten, information about his naps and nappies, to different activities they have been up to. It is lovely to see what he has been doing during the day and how much fun he is having. She takes the children to a range of settings, from the library to various playgroups. She has also introduced new activities to him in her setting, like painting which we haven’t yet tried at home.
We couldn’t have been happier with Yvonne as our childcare provider and will be really sad to say goodbye when we move. I would highly recommend Yvonne to anyone looking for a childminder.
