our new home.
Nanny family- Parker family
Position held- Sole charge SEN Nanny
Period of Employment- January 2022- December 2023
Job responsibilities and duties- This position was my first nanny role working with a SEN child who has only recently been diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder. Throughout this role I have gained an insight into the incredible support that is available to families and have attended the majority of physio, speech and language, occupational and conductive therapy sessions in addition to multiple hospital appointments and have worked with both the multiple therapists and the parents to provide continuous support and care for my charge in a loving and comfortable environment where they can thrive. As well as all normal nursery duties I have been trained in my charges' specific care plans and regularly engage in both physical therapy and speech and language therapy activities at home.
Reason for leaving- I have an extremely good bond with this whole family and would love to continue to support them however cannot due to having had my own child and limited available childcare.
Private nursery
Position held- Pre school room leader/Assistant deputy of nursery
Period of employment- February 2021- current
Job responsibilities and duties- My current role as room leader and assistant deputy is to work as part of the management team to provide professional leadership and management of the pre-school room which currently has over 40 children enrolled. I am there to ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education. I plan/provide a variety of engaging activities that cover all areas of development weekly which are both child and adult led as well as keeping track of each childs individual development. I work closely with all the parents and staff members built some wonderful relationships. As well as my room leader role I also have taken on many deputy manager responsibilities and have been line manager multiple times when management staff have been absent and have been able to keep the nursery running at a very high standard as well as having lots of fun with the little ones.
Reason for leaving- I miss the bond you can make when nannying children and the personal relationship you form with family as well as being able to truly focus on that child/children and supporting their development in a loving and nurturing environment.
Name of family: Colvile Family
Position held: Sole charge nanny/proxy parent 9m and 4yrs
Period of employment: July 2019- February 2021
Job responsibilities and duties: This role was unlike anything I have encountered before and will forever be special to me. It was originally meant to be a 6 month role whilst one of the parents was recovering from an illness however one week into this job, the parent sadly passed away so for the past 19 months or so I have been helping the family, focusing on all aspects of development with the children in particular their emotional well-being. Alongside all normal nursery duties. My hours are 7.30-7, Monday to Friday and I have spent my time whilst with this family ensuring the boys feel as loved/cared for and comfortable as possible.
Reason for leaving: Moving to Brighton.
Name of Family: Heathcote Family
Position Held: Sole charge\proxy parent 2yr & 5yr (now 4 and 7)
Period of Employment: October 2017-July 2019?
Job Description and Duties: This job was my first live in role as a nanny and I found living within the family home was brilliant in order to form strong relationsips with the children very quickly. This was a very flexible role requring travel, proxy parenting at least once a week and going between their London and Surrey homes. Creating a good routine and loving enviroment for the girls was crucial due to their busy lifestyle. I took on all nursery duties and encouraged all aspects of development whilst having lots of fun and forming bonds that won't be broken!
Reason for leaving: Both children are going to be full time at school (too little hours)
Name of Family: Felton Family London
Position Held: Sole charge Nanny 6mth & 3yr?
Period of Employment: March 2016-October 2017?
Job Description and Duties: I started this role when G was 6 months and B was 3 years & the family had recently relocated from New York. Immediately the children and I bonded resulting in a really special/close relationship, which aided in settling them and made them feel comfortable and safe in their new home. I quickly established a routine for the children and we make a great team. I ensure the children’s days are filled with adventure and learning, whether that’s from a variety of activities we do in and around the house or out on day trips, every day we see and explore new ideas/environments with the intent to continually stimulate and challenge the children’s individual development, this has led to two very happy, content & inquisitive children. I weaned the youngest child alongside mum when she was 6 months, introducing fresh and healthy food in addition to moving her onto formula from breast milk and adjusting/creating a sleep routine. I regularly prepare a variety of healthy meals for the children and carry out all normal nursery duties. I have also accompanied this family on various trips around Europe and have taken on a ‘proxy parent’ role in the parent’s absence moving into the family home, and caring for the children 24/7 in sole responsibility.
Reason for leaving: The role is a 4 day position & financially I require full time employment ?
Name of Company: JEM childcare recruitment??
Position Held: Recruitment consultant?
Period of Employment: January 16-March 16?
Job Description and Duties: I worked for three months as a childcare recruitment consultant and whilst I learnt a lot of new skills here, I quickly realized that my passion lies with working directly with children and I missed being involved and part of a their life/development therefore I chose to continue to pursue my career as a professional nanny.?
Name of the Family: Tanser family
Position Held: Sole charge Nanny 6mths &3yrs ?
Period of Employment: January 2014- December 2015?
Job Description and Duties: I have known this family since the oldest who is now 6 was 3 months old as he was in the baby room at a nursery I had worked at prior to my first nanny job. Due to my close relationship with this family it also meant that although I was not their nanny at the time I was able to spend time and build strong relationships with both children, meeting the youngest when she was just a few days old! I became their nanny when the youngest turned 6 months and the eldest was 3 in January 2014. I was responsible for all normal nursery duties. I helped wean the youngest and quickly discovered she had several food intolerances, this was immediately solved by working alongside the parents to have tests done and implement a healthy, specialist diet for her. As this role was in Surrey we spent a lot of time outdoors exploring and getting messy, both children were not only very active but very academic so I constantly encouraged all aspects of their development through different kinds of play, structured age appropriate activities and of course lots of cuddles.
Reason for leaving:New challenge/ younger one started pre-school.
Name of Family: Barraclough family?
Position Held: Nanny 6mths & new born ?
Period of Employment: February 2013- January 2014 ?
Job description: I originally met the Barraclough family whilst working in the baby room within a nursery setting, where the eldest who was just 6 months at the time and I bonded instantly. This led to the family offering me a role as their nanny which I happily accepted as my first nanny role. This role was right in the heart of Reigate so we had access to a huge range of activities both outside and within the house. As she was only 6 months when I started I focused a lot on getting her into a routine and played a big part in weaning her and implementing routines along with development focused activities and it was not long before she was crawling and expressing herself through a range of sounds and actions. The strong bond we made and the great routine she was in proved very important as mum soon found out she was pregnant. I was lucky enough to be very involved with mum throughout the pregnancy/birth and even took them home from hospital which was very special. Ensuring that the older girl was always supported and loved throughout this big change, resulting in a very smooth transition from becoming an only child to a big sister! Mum was home on maternity leave so it then became more of a share cared role where I would care for both children alongside a very tired mummy in addition to having days where I would have both sole charge so she could have a well-deserved break. I was able to be part of creating the babies routine and supported and helped mum throughout the first months of his life.
Reason for leaving: Mum made redundant, not enough hours.?
Company: Asquith Day Nursery
Position held: Nursery Nurse
Employment dates: November 11-February 13
Job description: I fully discovered my passion working with children within this 80+ place setting. I worked in the baby unit where I was part of a team working with children from 4 months- 18 months. I worked primarily in the youngest baby room with the ratio 1-3. I always made it my upmost priority to work closely with the parents to ensure each individual child was settled into the nursery by creating as similar routine to their home routine as possible. Whilst at the nursery I continuously created a range of different, new activities to encourage and enhance development of each individual child, I kept track of their progress through a learning journal referring to the EYFS and created day sheets where details such as sleep, nappy changes and weaning progress/eating was recorded. I worked with babies with a wide variety of need including different physical and dietary needs.
Reason for leaving: New career as a nanny
