My Summary
Experienced Teacher Available For Tutoring/Nannying
About Me
Primary school teacher with over 20 years experience, Early Years and SEN specialist. Mum of 4.
I have recently returned to North Dorset from teaching Nursery and working in the Special Educational Needs department in the Falkland Islands. In the last five years I have taught in Egypt followed by Beijing which has been an amazing experience for myself and my family. I am currently in the process of registering with Ofsted as a Childminder, and this should hopefully have gone through by Christmas when I will be able to offer childcare in my own home. Until then I am happy to work as a Nanny in your home or take your children out and about locally. I can drop off/pick up at local schools and preschools. I am experienced in Forest School and am currently studying for my level 3 Forest School qualification. I am keen to work with children outdoors as often as possible and encourage their natural exploration and inquisitiveness.
I have four children of my own, 15, 13, 11 and 5 years old. We keep very busy every day going for walks, visiting the park as well as engaging in cooking, crafts and messy play at home. My older children love playing sport, being outdoors and music and drama. We also love animals, currently keeping chickens, two friendly cats, and a new border collie puppy, and I try to involve children in their care as much as possible.
As well as childcare, I am also available as a private tutor, working one to one or in a small tutoring group, and specialise in the lower primary age range. I have qualifications and experience in special needs education. I have a full, clean driving licence, current level 3 safeguarding certificate, and will soon be renewing my paediatric first aid certificate. I also speak French to a good level and speak some Spanish, German and Arabic.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher. I have taught all primary age ranges. I also have experience working with families in a nannying capacity, both here and in Australia and New Zealand and have worked in daycare and preschools with children from 6 weeks old to 5 years. I was a registered childminder for four years where I cared for children from 3 months to 5 years old. I am in the process of renewing my registration.
