How we do this at
Junes kiddiewinks
Literacy
Assisting your child as they become aware of letters and develop an interest in reading and writing In our book corner the children can share books with a friend or adult. They can also listen to story each day.
Mathematics Developing children's interest in numbers shapes and measures we believe that the best way to
develop children's mathematical knowledge
is to make it a part of every day play. We have an amazing variety of games and resources which are introduced gradually to develop their knowledge of shape, sequence, measurement, counting and number recognition.
Understanding the world Teaching children about the world they live in, people, communities, cultures, nature, the way we live and tools we use Through our topic based approach the children have plenty of opportunities to question, investigate and explore the world around them. To develop their ICT skills we have iPads that the children use to reinforce and extend mathematical and Literacy concepts through fun
programs.
Expressive arts and design
Using imagination and a range of materials to develop your child's creativity Each week we have a different craft theme such as painting, printing, collaging, cutting and sticking, to develop the use of small tools such as pens and brushes with increasing control. Stories, movement, songs and musical instruments provide opportunities for the children to explore and express their own feelings.
Personal, social and emotional development
Building relationships and self-awareness, understanding and controlling feelings and emotions
The children develop independence
and confidence as they play alone and in small groups with appropriate adult support.
They also learn to co-operate, take turns and share as part of a larger group.
Physical development
Improving your child's motor skills and physical capabilities as they grow and developing
being healthy Carefully chosen equipment gives children the opportunity to develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness. Our Play area outside has lots of equipment we also have an extended large grass area for sports, mud kitchen with forest school activities, helps develop the children's gross motor skills.
Children are encouraged to do as much as possible themselves to give them the confidence that they can care for themselves and help them prepare for starting school
Communication and language
Helping children as they learn to listen, understand and speak.
We use stories and rhymes to help even the youngest children to learn these necessary skills The children are provided with a range of opportunities to promote the development of language skills. In the company of responsive adults the children learn to listen and communicate by means of language.

Where to begin with June and Sue who became like a family member to our son and not just his childminders.
We began our journey in lockdown 2020 with searching the local childcare options for our then 6month old and I knew the moment I sat with June and had seen the setting that this was the place for us.
Fast forward 4 Years and our son now leaving for primary school had the best experience with June and Sue and he was very sad to leave them behind to start his new adventure.
The organisation and how the setting is ran is superb, we are sent every week the following weeks itinerary and everything the children will be doing which includes literacy, maths and fine motor skills. Photos are sent pretty much all throughout the day showing how the children are doing.
With all the fun carefully thought out activities, music class, inside playing area, story times. the garden area, mud kitchen, visits from Santa and the easter bunny your child will be loving life here.
From the beginning I found working off the same hymen sheet in terms of parenting at home and daily attendance with June really helped with my son's development in his first years of his journey in life. From potty training, getting his self dressed on own, one on one time with his early years learning and in general just all round becoming the confident, independent little man he is today just couldn't be done without her support and patience.
I can guarantee every little one who leaves June Kiddiewinks and heads up into the next stage of school will be so advanced for their age group.
We are going to miss June and Sue so much and I cannot, cannot thank them enough for the most important start to life for our son. So please look no further for your childcare as everything you need is here.
Miss you already
xx

Typical first-time parents, we wanted the best of the best - of course! ;-) - for our precious boy and from the Ofsted reviews, June’s Kiddiewinks seemed to be the ‘golden egg’ in our area. We still went ahead and met with a number of childminders, but it became very apparent that June was miles ahead, so having a space offered to us made our hearts very happy! June provided us with an EXTREMELY thorough info pack which left us feeling well-informed and reassured that our precious boy was going to be in the hands of a true professional.
June facilitated a smooth settling in process and since starting, our son’s development has been noticeable, which, no doubt, is a result of all the wonderful shared activities and mealtimes the children get to partake in. There hasn’t been a day where we have had to worry about the care that our son is in with the added bonus of a consistent routine, well-balanced meals and the treat of a well-equipped play area! June’s constant communication, honesty and fairness, has eased our days when we miss him so much, but also tackle some of the ‘trying’ developmental moments. A real help to be able to lean on someone so knowledgeable when friends and family are far away!
We feel June and Sue have welcomed our little boy and in their care, have nurtured him with the perfect balance of being motherly and professional. Thank you both so much!

June took great care of both my children until they started Infant School.
I recommend her above any Nursery.
I felt we received the personal touch, and my children were loved and well cared for.
Both my Children thrived in Junes care and were well prepared for School.
They were independent with taking themselves to the toilet, which June and her team worked tirelessly to achieve and praised with a reward system.
Both could write their names, recognise shapes, colours numbers etc.
Prior to starting with June my children went to a Nursery.
I felt in Nursery that my children were treated more like a number and did not receive the one to one care that June and her team always provided.
I was always updated daily on what my children were doing throughout the day, with photos etc, and she always kept us informed of her weekly educational activities.
Personally I could not recommend June highly enough, and thank her and her team for everything.

I cannot give June enough praise.
She is brilliant with the children and my son have flourished with her guidance. June is well organised, with messages sent out for the following weeks activities and theme - which are so creative and very sweet. She is not only organised and caring, but she is very knowledgable about their development too and helped my son with the way he was using a spoon, which improved over night.
My son has loved going to 'June's house' and comes home chattering away about what he did with his friends that day.
I am devastated to be leaving June, and would recommend her a thousand times over to anyone. Ten stars if I could ;)

We only had a couple of months experience with June. We appreciate others experiences will be very different to ours but unfortunately we found June not empathetic in a situation where our daughter took slightly longer to settle in a new environment than others might have done, leading to her severing the contract after an extended settling in period.
When Pearl experienced nappy rash due to a long period of diahorrea and sickness which like many children she experienced when she first started childcare, she immediately suggested it was because we were knowingly leaving her in a dirty nappy. Pearl unfortunately just a tendency to feel comfortable to go in the car en route most mornings!
We found her tone accusatory on several occasions and she consistently made us feel uncomfortable and like we weren't good parents when we and everyone that knows us knows this couldn't be further from the truth. She also made us feel that Pearl wasn't good or well behaved enough (as a very normal 10 month old baby) to be in her care.
Until June let us know she didn't feel it was right Pearl continued with her, the prior few weeks messages had implied Pearl was getting on well and eating and sleeping well, so it came as quite a surprise.
We hope others have a better experience but we feel it is only fair to share our own.

Response by junes kiddiewinks on 06/01/2023:
I’m so sorry that you feel this way and feel the need to write a review in this way, but not every child is the same and not every child settles. It is very unfortunate that your little one didn’t settle in my setting.
I will be upfront and honest with parents, including safeguarding concerns.
