My Summary
About Me
I am Ofsted Register Childminder who delivers quality childcare for your little ones in a homely, safe and secure learning environment filled to brim with laughter, kindness, respect, affection, good books, stories about ducks, long park walks, adventure and most important - the space where children can be them-self, and to be truly seen and cherished exactly as they are.
I provide aesthetic, tranquil, inviting, inspiring play space (inside the house and outside in the garden), freedom to play and healthy home cooked meals and snacks.
I am big believer in gentle, child-led parenting that's why I try to implement in my setting many different philosophies and approaches - from Waldorf to Montessori.
I love observing children "at work" and watching them grow as people. Watching their personality unfold, seeing them smile and happy.
I am based on Colliers Wood / Mitcham borders, next to Morden Hall Park and Deen City Farm. I am also close to Wimbledon and Polka Theatre.
Please feel free under no obligation to come and have a look at my setting.

When we started searching for a childminder for our son Leo, we met with 5 other minders in the process and honestly, Dot stood head and shoulders above the rest! Leo joined Dot when he was 9 months old and has been with her for over 2yrs. During this time, we've seen Leo flourish into a curious, confident and kind toddler and we have no doubt that Dot has helped shape who he is today. As first time parents, Dot offered us a lot of support from weaning to potty-training to balance biking and everything else in between. Dot and her family have been absolutely incredible and we will always cherish the time Leo spent with her. A beautifully clean home, stimulating toys, healthy home cooked meals, photos/videos of daily activities and a childminder who is genuinely invested in your child's development and happiness....like I said, Mary Poppins does exist! Thank you Dot x
Our daughter Isobel has been looked after by Dot since she was 9 months old.
We feel so fortunate to have found Dot. The level of care that she provides is truly outstanding and it has made it a very difficult decision to move out of London as we will be so sad to leave Dot and her family behind.
Dot genuinely cares about nurturing the children in her care to develop into kind, helpful, inquisitive and confident young people. The Montessori style approach that Dot takes, coupled with the smaller setting (2-3 children max) means that Isobel has progressed rapidly and is already confidently talking in full sentences, zooming along on her balance bike, doing 16 piece jigsaw puzzles, all before her 2nd birthday!
Choosing a childminder is a difficult decision, so here are some of the things we love most about Dot out of a very long list:
- Isobel clearly loves Dot very much, and enjoys her time with her
- Her setting is calm and inviting, filled with beautiful, carefully chosen and curated toys that encourage open ended creative play
- Dot carefully plans activities around the interests and developmental milestones of each child helping them to learn through play
- Lots of fresh air and exercise, regular trips to Morden Hall, Deen City Farm & the local playground as well as playing in Dot’s very well equipped garden.
- Lots of singing and reading. We often get to learn a new song from Isobel in the pushchair on the way home!
- Everything is taken care of! Dot provides 3 delicious healthy home cooked meals a day + snacks, nappies and milk which makes our lives as working parents so easy
- Regular photo updates so we get to see all the fun things that Isobel has been up to each day together with her friends
- As first time parents Dot has also been an invaluable source of reassurance and advice, thank you!
Most of all she now feels like part of the family and we shall be calling back in frequently to say hi :-)
We are moving from London and as a result a space has become available at our amazing childminder. Our daughter Georgie has been with Dorota (Dot) since she was 6.5 months old (she is now 2 years 2 months) and she has become a confident little lady who is constantly enquiring about the world around her and likes to try things herself. I remember how hard it was to find someone we felt we could trust, who would nurture our child and help them develop. I can say without a shadow of a doubt we made a brilliant decision by working with Dot, amazing does not really cover it. The space that the children have to play in is outstanding, clean yet inviting and designed to encourage creative play which Dot supports with a beautiful array of wooden toys, her garden is carefully designed to allow outside play all year round and the children have access to a mud kitchen amongst other things. Her location is also fantastic and means the children benefit from access to the beautiful Morden Hall Park and (when open) Deer Farm and national trust nature trails. Themed weeks (such as animals, birds, weather etc) mean the children learn when playing and we get a constant flow of lovely art work to adorn the fridge. Dot walks that careful balance of being brilliant with children (my daughter loves her dearly) without being a parent replacement - something I think is incredibly hard to do. I really cannot speak highly enough of Dot, Georgie has thrived in her care and Dot has been instrumental in Georgie becoming the confident, friendly, chatty, sparky child she is today.
Georgie is going to miss Dot, as will we!
